Dr. Robert Llizo presents, “How Athens Became A Suburb of Jerusalem: The Bible And Greek Philosophy,” a course for adults introducing them to basic philosophy embedded within the Bible by its authors and used by early commentators, preachers, apologists, and pastors (the Church Fathers).
This is designed to help us, modern Catholic Christians living in a secular world with secular assumptions, learn to read the Scriptures as they were intended to be read. There is no reason to embrace the false dichotomies of “faith vs. science,” or “physical vs. spiritual,” that so many take for granted as truth. This course should help in bridging the gaps!
On seven (7) Sunday mornings this summer at 10AM before the 11AM Mass, as listed in this Facebook event and on the registration website.
At Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (in the main hall at La Salle High School: 3880 E Sierra Madre Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91107). Dr. Llizo will be broadcast live via video feed from his location at Blessed John Henry Newman, Irvine, but participants in Pasadena will be able to interact with him.
This course will fill up fast and there is a suggested donation amount of $30 per person to cover costs. (Don't let this prevent you from participating though! It's on the honor system.) Participants MUST register: http://www.newmanonline.org/summer2018
